ADAS Simulation

Digital Engineering

Simulation for Advanced Driver Assistance and Automated Driving Systems based on Unreal Engine simulation environment

Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automated driving systems are coming up more and more in vehicles.

Software-in-the-loop (SIL) environments enable demonstration, calibration, analysis and validation and verification of real ADAS software features without an electronic control unit (ECU) or a vehicle.

A Software in the loop platform for Advanced Driver Assistance and Automated Driving Systems supports to speed up system engineering and prototype development by tests in simulation environment, test-based development with a perceptible reduction of release cycles and costs.

Adaptive Cruise Control

Unreal Engine-based simulation environment for validation of the driver’s assistance system Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

Bosch Engineering provides an innovative digital engineering approach for the virtualization of ADAS features to support OEMs in different simulation activities. This enables completely new possibilities for ADAS software development in use a realistic virtual environment like Unreal Engine.

The Mega Grant project 2021 was financed by Epic Games, to integrate the Bosch software of Radar ECU and a Radar Generation 5 sensor model in virtual environment based on Unreal Engine. The setup is based on CARLA simulator, extensions are Bosch phenomenological radar sensor and library of Radar-software, to realize ACC scenarios with Unreal Engine in a very realistic way. This project was strongly supported by the 3D virtualization team in Cluj.
